Gay America

I have found the homepage of American photographer, Scott Pasfield, thanks to one of the entry on Homotography.  He present his most personal project, "Gay America", a journey across the United States (all 51 of them, including Washington DC) meeting and photographing different types of American men who live their homosexuality in the open.

One of the most interesting parts of the project are the different and touching stories of each and every one of the men portrayed; from the young guy raised in San Francisco, to the cowboy who divorced his wife and came out of the closet, or the single gay man who is rising his teenage nephews.

There are some really touching stories, they kept making me cry in amazement of how strong the human will is.

Gracias a la web Homotography he encontrado la web de un fotógrafo americano, Scott Pasfield.  En esta web nos presenta su proyecto más personal, "Gay America", un viaje a través de todos los Estados Unidos (los 51 estados, incluyendo Washington DC) conociendo y fotografiando diferentes tipos de hombres americanos que viven su homosexualidad abiertamente.

Lo que más interesante me parece del proyecto son las diferentes y conmovedoras historias de cada uno de los hombres retratados; desde el hombre joven que creció en San Francisco, hasta el vaquero que se divorció de su mujer y salió del armario, o el hombre gay soltero que está criando a sus sobrinos adolescentes.

Hay algunas historias especialmente conmovedoras; muchas veces se me caía alguna lagrima sorprendida de lo fuerte que puede llegar a ser el deseo y las ganas de vivir del ser humano.
